I stumbled across a wonderful find while I was perusing Twitter earlier today. Albeit it’s something that was done a little over a year ago, but it’s still amazing nonetheless.
Flickr user Imagine™ has recreated Rapture using nothing but custom build LEGO structures and a custom Big Daddy “mini-fig”.
I’m sure I’ll fail in my attempts to articulate how awesome their rendition of Rapture is, so I’ll just include some pictures for your viewing pleasure!
That Big Daddy mini-fig is the bee’s knees!
Let me first say that I am a huge fan and have love for both Star Wars and LEGO. My collections for either are admittedly not very large though, but if I could only add one more thing it would definitely be the LEGO Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer that was produced back in 2002. The completed set is monstrous at a whopping three feet long and two feet wide, weighing in at a little over 20 pounds. It is, by far, one of the largest sets ever produced by LEGO.
As of this posting, it sells used for around $600 US. I’ll have you one day my precious!
I am a huge fan of LEGO, and I mean HUGE. It’s actually a dream of mine to visit LEGOLAND California and LEGOLAND Florida one day. But now that my geek factor is out of the way though, I wanted to share something I found earlier. I stumbled across this amazing sculpture and just had to share it. This sculpture was part of the remodeling of the Downtown Disney LEGO store back in 2011. The detail that went into this is simply astounding!
